Following on from our previous articles about the sponsorships of our local sports teams, we wanted to give you an update on all of the latest news and the teams’ progress in January 2023.
Pure Staff is very proud to be sponsoring three local teams; the Wrens Nest U9 Girls Team, Handsworth 2XV Rugby Team and Frank Bell-Reynolds, and the Boldmere Falcons U11 Football Team.
In this update, we’ll share some of the past month’s highlights.
Wrens Nest Under 9’s – A Roaring Victory
The Wren’s Nest girls have had some strange times of late! Unfortunately, 2 of their last games have been called off due to frozen pitches, but their previous game was a very tense 1-1 draw, and the game before this saw them with a roaring 8-0 victory!
The hardworking girls continue to grow as a team and polish their skills each week.
Handsworth 2XV & Frank Bell-Reynolds
The Handsworth rugby team have been very busy in January! They played two games on the 7th and the 14th. Their game on the 21st was unfortunately cancelled due to a frozen pitch. In their first game against Uttoxeter away, they won a very close game, 34-31.
Their second game was a tense 12-12 draw against Willenhall in a friendly where Frank Bell-Reynolds was awarded ‘Man Of The Match’. Scoring three tries in two games again places Frank on for seven tries for the season!
The league table hasn’t been updated yet, as it shows Handsworth 2XV ranking 8th on the table. However, they have had four games in hand due to cancellations, so they are hoping for a nice top 4 finish! They then played their local rivals, Walsall, on Saturday.
