Promise Dreams, a charity based in the United Kingdom, has been working hard to make dreams come true for seriously and terminally ill children and their families since 2001.
Recently, Pure Staff have proudly donated £1,500 to support this incredible cause. With this generous donation from Pure Staff, Promise Dreams will be able to help even more children and their families receive a dream weekend away or other special experiences that enable them to create lasting memories together.
The charity works to bring joy into the lives of sick children by granting them experiences and items that will help make them feel special. From taking part in activities such as going to concerts or theme parks, to getting sports equipment or meeting their idols – Promise Dreams does it all. Every dream is tailored specifically to each individual child’s needs and wants.
About Isla-Rae
Isla-Rae is 14 months’ old and has a rare life-threatening genetic disorder resulting in developmental delay, very low immune system, extreme fatigue and photosensitivity which causes diseases and conditions caused by exposure to sunlight. She will have issues with mobility and may never speak. She could also lose her hearing at any point.
Due to this extremely rare condition Isla has a very complex feeding and medical regime. She requires a high level of care which is provided by her Mum and Dad with minimal support from others. Isla also has cardiomyopathy which is a disease of the heart muscle that makes it harder for the heart to pump blood. This condition can lead to heart failure and there is no cure, only lifelong medication.
Isla was born at 26 weeks, weighing just over 1 lb and had a 1% chance of survival. She is very small for her age but fights every day. She loves music and lights and has her favourite songs that make her smile. Isla’s parents would love to take her to Disneyland Paris to make special memories as they don’t know how long she will be with them.
Isla’s Mum has had to leave her job as Isla is not able to attend nursery and they are struggling to enjoy things with their daughter due to money hardship. It would mean the world to them to have some special family time that they can remember forever.
Isla has numerous medical appointments and spends a lot of time in hospital so it would be a treat to spend time somewhere that isn’t the same 4 hospital walls. Times are tough for the family and they want to enjoy their baby girl as much as they can. Promise Dreams is working with Isla’s parents to make this Disney dream come true.
