My client is an industry leading logistics business and are currently experiencing a period of sustained growth. Due to an internal promotion, they are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join their high performing team.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Transport Operations Supervisor to oversee and enhance our transport operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring efficient deliveries, optimising processes, and maintaining high service levels. Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight:
- Plan, manage, and coordinate transport operations to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
- Optimise routes to reduce costs and improve service quality.
- Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations, tachograph requirements, and driver working hours.
- Client and Customer Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding delivery schedules and performance.
- Address and resolve transport-related issues promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Investigate the root causes of service failures, providing solutions and ensuring they are not repeated.
- Strategic Contribution:
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in transportation practices, focusing on cost reduction and service enhancement.
- Manage and support a team of drivers and logistics personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with team members, customers and partners.
- Liaise with the Fleet Manager and Compliance Director on vehicle or HR requirements and support needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the logistics or transport industry.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance in the UK.
- A valid Transport Manager CPC is desirable but not essential.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in transport management systems.
- Outstanding communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
