As a Class 1 Driver you will;
- Reporting to the transport office to start of your shift, where you will receive a detailed brief of jobs to be completed that day.
- To perform a detailed Inspection and thorough clean of the vehicle in operation. Ensuring vehicles are mechanically sound and legally road worthy.
- The safe transportation of goods whilst obeying the rules of the road and following the company’s safety regulations.
- Working collaboratively with all associated departments within the company.
- Unloading the vehicle and putting away the produce in the correct goods in area if required to do so.
- Following company procedure when loading vehicles, ensuring the right goods are being loaded and reporting any discrepancies prior to departure.
- For the most part, loads will be picked by warehouse operatives. However, a driver may be required to load their vehicle if there is an absence of operatives.
- To always work in a safe and effective manner and to have a degree of flexibility in your working hours if required by the company,
- To complete run sheets and other supporting documentation.
- Reporting any negligent driving of vehicles including lorries, vans, ride on and forklifts by company employees or associated parties.
- To report any damage to the fleet and act were necessary. A general understanding of cosmetic and mechanical knowledge is a requirement.
Skills / Other:
- A full HGV license is required.
- A forklift and ride-on license are required.
- 2 years’ driving experience is needed.
- No driving convictions and a maximum of 6 points on license
- Must be age 25+
- Able to deal with all operational issues which occur within the normal operation.
- Good overall knowledge of vehicles with the ability to resolve unforeseen problems when they occur.
- 3-8 drops normally per shift
- Shift: Sunday – Friday (5pm – 3am)
